Mr. Ron has been studying TKD for well over 20 years and currently holds a 3rd degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon-do, and a 1st degree in Hapkido. Mr Ron started studying Martial Arts at age 10, and has continued along this path for the past 20 years. He began his studies with Tae Kwon Do under his brother, Master Bun. He achieved first dan at 21 years of age. At 16 years of age, Mr. Ron started competing at local and national tournaments quickly becoming one of the well-known Martial Artists at his age level. Well known for his weapons and forms allowed him to be rated in Black Belt Magazine under PKL and AKL. He was 1st in weapons and forms and 3rd in Sparring. During his years of competing, training, and teaching with Master Bun they have graduated over 300 Black Belts and thousands of students at various other belt levels. In 1995 Mr Ron left the International Tae Kwon-do Academy and formed Carolina Tae Kwon-do Academy LLC. with his partner and brother in-law, John. They opened their first school in Fort Mill, SC. Mr. Ron's philosophy is to provide a customer-friendly environment for both the parents and their children. His focus on customer service and family values is truly evident once you meet him and it clearly plays a vital role in making Carolina Tae Kwon Do Academy the Best growing Martial Arts institute in the Carolina's. Although the school is rapidly growing, Mr. Ron believes that with growth comes the need for more discipline and order without losing sight of the enjoyment of the Art. He said, "Our school promotes the development of people, not just the training of the arts." We as instructors teach and instill in our students the belief that a well-balanced family, work, and healthy training regime will result in positive changes in all aspects of your life." This was evident when just recently, he was asked about being a father and a Martial Artist. His response was, "I believe being good at one makes me better at the other."
